VP of Operations (APAC & MENA)

Our client, a leading player in the banking and financial services sector, is seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Operations to oversee and optimize operational activities across the APAC and MENA regions. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing best practices to deliver efficiency and scalability across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate will bring deep operational expertise, regional experience, and a strong understanding of banking processes, technology, and risk management frameworks.

Requirements:

Oversee end-to-end banking operations across APAC and MENA regions, ensuring seamless integration and process consistency.
Drive operational transformation programs to improve efficiency, cost control, and scalability.
Lead the implementation of digital and process automation initiatives to enhance operational performance.
Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the organization’s global vision.
Ensure regional compliance with local and international banking regulations.
Monitor and manage cross-border operational risks, ensuring robust internal controls.
Lead and mentor regional operations teams across multiple countries.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Partner with technology, product, compliance, and risk teams to support business growth.
Establish and maintain governance frameworks for operational risk management.
Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, and other regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical operations.
Act as the primary liaison for operational matters with regional regulators, internal audit, and senior leadership.
Provide regular updates and reports on key operational metrics, risk indicators, and strategic projects.

Requirements:

15+ years of progressive experience in banking operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role covering multiple regions.
Strong knowledge of APAC and MENA banking regulations, compliance frameworks, and market dynamics.
Proven expertise in operational strategy, process improvement, and digital transformation.
Experience leading large, multicultural teams across geographies.
Deep understanding of risk management, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate at C-level.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
